Whether you can take Tadalafil at the same time as your other medications will depend on which medications you are taking.
You are required to complete a short medical consultation questionnaire that asks for any medications that you are prescribed from your GP and will indicate the medications that can’t be taken alongside Tadalafil.
There are several medicines which should not be taken concurrently with Tadalafil. Medicines which can have potentially serious interactions with Tadalafil include :-
• Any alpha-blocker medicines e.g. doxazosin (Cardura), alfuzosin (Xatral), tamsulosin, terazosin, or Flomax, that you can buy in the pharmacy. (These medicines may be used to treat prostate problems or high blood pressure).
• Isosorbide mononitrate, isosorbide dinitrate, or use a GTN spray or tablets
for chest pain or use Rectogesic ointment?
• Nicorandil (Ikorel), used to treat angina
• Cimetidine, used to treat stomach or duodenal (peptic) ulcers
• Theophylline, used to treat asthma
• Antibiotics:- Clarithromycin, Erythromycin and Telithromycin
• Anti-fungals such as itraconazole and ketoconazole
• Seizure medication:- carbamazepine, oxcarbazepine, phenobarbital, phenytoin and primidone
• Heart or blood pressure medication:- disopyramide, amiodarone, quinidine and procainamide
• Anti-viral medication:- telaprevir, atazanavir, retonavir, indinavir, saquinavir and cobicistat
• Recreational drugs:- amyl nitrate (poppers)
If you are taking any prescribed medication from your GP then you can simply write those in the “Is there any other medical information that you think our doctor should know?” section on the medical questionnaire. Then, our doctor will know whether the Tadalafil is safe for you to take.

1.Nitrates (e.g., nitroglycerin, isosorbide dinitrate): Cialis and nitrates both lower blood pressure. Taking them together can cause a significant and potentially life-threatening drop in blood pressure (hypotension), leading to dizziness, fainting, or even heart attack or stroke. It is contraindicated to use Cialis with nitrates or recreational "poppers" (amyl nitrites).
2.Alpha-blockers (e.g., prazosin, terazosin, tamsulosin): Both Cialis and alpha-blockers relax blood vessels, which can lead to excessive blood pressure reduction when used together. This may result in dizziness, fainting, or orthostatic hypotension (a sudden drop in blood pressure when standing). If needed, your doctor may adjust the dosage or recommend spacing the medications.
3.Other antihypertensive drugs (e.g., atenolol, propranolol, enalapril, lisinopril): Cialis can enhance the blood-pressure-lowering effects of these medications. While this interaction is usually less severe than with nitrates or alpha-blockers, it can still cause dizziness or fainting in sensitive individuals. Close monitoring of blood pressure is recommended.
Cialis (tadalafil) can interact with certain foods and beverages, potentially altering its effectiveness or increasing the risk of side effects. Here are the key drug-food interactions to be aware of:
Cialis (tadalafil) is a popular medication used for the treatment of erectile dysfunction (ED) in men. It may also help treat symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) in women. Top drug-drug interactions (TCAs) are defined by a reduced range of effectiveness, both before and after extensive use. A TCA may be defined as a 4-fold reduction in blood pressure that is both safe and effective in treating a condition. A TCA may also have a lower risk of serious drug interactions compared to a NTC. A TCA is considered safe when it is closely related to the condition being treated. A TCA with a low risk of serious drug interactions should not be used as part of a comprehensive drug treatment plan. A TCA with a low risk of serious drug interactions should not be used as a treatment for BPH or erectile dysfunction.
A New Jersey-based company, based in the US, is developing a drug for erectile dysfunction called Cialis. It’s a prescription drug that’s been approved by the FDA for people with erectile dysfunction who want to enhance their sex life.
“When it comes to medications like Cialis, the question of whether or not they work is a matter of trust,” said Dr. Charles H. Lechleiter, a urologist at the University of Delaware.
“When we started looking into this, we saw that there were other options out there for treatment of ED. There are other drugs that could be effective, and there are other medications that have the potential to be more effective in treating ED.”
The FDA approved the drug for men with erectile dysfunction about a year ago, but a few months later, the drug has since received approval from the United States Food and Drug Administration for those who have been diagnosed with ED.
The drug Cialis was originally developed as an anti-depressant. It was later developed as an erection drug. There was a trial conducted in the US last year that showed that it was effective for those with erectile dysfunction.
The drug is a long-acting drug, which is taken orally, and lasts about four hours, which means it can be taken only when the patient is aroused. It’s sold as a tablet, and it’s the only medication approved by the FDA for erectile dysfunction that lasts for 36 hours.
The drug is made up of two active ingredients: Tadalafil (brand name Cialis) and Viagra (brand name Revatio). It works by increasing blood flow to the penis, making it easier to get and maintain an erection. It also helps to relax muscles and nerves, allowing men to get and maintain an erection longer.
The drug is sold in three dosages: 20mg, 40mg and 60mg. It’s available as an oral tablet, which is taken once a day with a glass of water.
The drug comes in 10 mg doses, while the 40mg version is available as an oral tablet. It can be taken with or without food.
Cialis can be purchased over-the-counter, so it should be taken as needed, and the drug can be taken in the morning and evening. The drug is available as a daily dose, which is taken once a day with a glass of water.
It’s important to note that Cialis isn’t the only drug that can help you have an erection. It can also have a positive effect on your sexual health, but it’s not one of the most effective medications for men with ED.
According to Dr. David H. Weisler, a urologist at the Cleveland Clinic, “We don’t know what the future holds for Cialis because we don’t know that Cialis has an impact on our sexual health.”

Cialis is a prescription drug that is taken orally, and lasts for about four hours. When the drug is taken by mouth, it can be absorbed through the skin and taken by mouth with or without food, or it can be taken by mouth with or without food. It’s taken with a glass of water.
This drug can also be found in pill form, but is typically taken with food. The drug is available in a 10mg dosage form, which can be taken once a day with a glass of water. It can also be available as a daily dosage. The dosage is 5 to 10 mg, taken once a day with a glass of water.
If you have any questions or concerns about your sexual health, please contact the Cleveland Clinic’s Sexual Medicine Center by calling or texting the information to 1-800-CIALIS.
“It’s a shame that so many people have not heard about Cialis as a treatment option,” said Dr. Mark L. Johnson, a urologist at the Cleveland Clinic. “Cialis is not an aphrodisiac, and it has not had a significant impact on sexual health.”
Cialis is a prescription medication that can be prescribed by a doctor. The drug is available over the counter and typically taken as needed, with or without food. The drug may be taken once a day, with or without food, as needed.
